Gürbüz Doğan Ekşioğlu
Gürbüz Doğan Ekşioğlu is a Turkish painter, cartoonist, and illustrator born in 1954 in Mesudiye, Ordu, Türkiye. He graduated from the Department of Graphic Design at the Istanbul State Academy of Applied Fine Arts and later served as a faculty member at the same institution.
Throughout his career, he has produced significant works in painting, graphic design, cartooning, and illustration. His artworks have been exhibited internationally, and he has received numerous national and international awards. He is especially recognized for his cover illustrations, becoming one of the few Turkish artists whose covers were published by The New Yorker.
Known for his poetic visual language featuring cats, birds, and human figures, his distinctive style holds an important place in contemporary Turkish art. He has held many solo exhibitions, participated in group shows, and his works are included in private collections worldwide. He continues his artistic practice in Istanbul.
